Finalist for the CWC Excellence Award

I’m thrilled to announce that my short story, “Reversion,” which was published in the April 2023 issue of Mystery Magazine, is on the short list for the 2024 Crime Writers of Canada Excellence Awards. The winner will be announced on May 29. The story was also a finalist for the Derringer Awards, but alas, did not win.

“Training Run” launches on November 3

Time Travel Holidays: A Holiday Anthology, which includes my short story “Training Run,” is set to go live on November 3, wherever ebooks are sold. That said, the anthology is also included as a stretch reward in WMG Publishing‘s Kickstarter for The Holiday Spectacular.

This is how it works: Every day from November 23 to January 1, backers will receive one holiday-themed short story… a kind of fictional Advent calendar. Those who back it for a bit more will receive their choice of a number of excellent anthologies, including Time Travel Holidays. Check out the Kickstarter here.

You have until November 2 to take advantage of this great deal!.

Nominated for a Derringer Award!

I am thrilled that my short story, “Tethered,” has been short-listed for a Derringer Award. There are 21 finalists in four categories and the winners in each category will be announced on May 1. I’m particularly chuffed to be short-listed because this is a peer chosen award.

“Tethered” was published in the second Sisters in Crime Canada West anthology, Crime Wave: Women of a Certain Age last year. My short story, “Cold Wave,” which appeared in the first anthology, won an Award of Excellence from Crime Writers of Canada.
